We Act Because We Care

About this project
A clean street starts with people who decide to do something about it.
We Act Because We Care grew out of Project Yatra, when we saw how much litter there was on the streets, beaches and forests of Morocco. In September 2021 Cultined and Volunteer in Morocco turned it into a weekly activity, with a first clean-up in the forest of Cabo Negro.
Since then, volunteers have gone out almost every week in the area around Tetouan, from Martil and Azla to Amsa and Oued Laou. They also give lessons about the environment in schools and community centres.
From 3 to 19 March 2024 an international volunteering team from Cultined took part. During the project the volunteers used bicycles for activities and for bike tours through nature together.
More and more residents are joining in. This is how a weekly clean-up grows into a shared effort for cleaner streets, beaches and nature.
