Continuing Hope, Building Together
About this project
Rebuilding after an earthquake needs lasting attention. With Continuing Hope, Building Together, Helping Hands, Reconstructing Hope got a follow-up, with activities for children in Touzountan and the surrounding villages in the province of Al Haouz.
From 6 to 21 June 2024 an international team of 23 young people worked with Volunteer in Morocco. The volunteers helped clear rubble and with building and repair work. They also offered social and practical support, organised activities for children and gave free English lessons.
Anyone who needed it had a personal support person, so that a participant with a disability could also take full part. Some of the volunteers stayed involved longer afterwards as individual volunteers.
Young people from the affected villages got to know the European Solidarity Corps this way. Some later became ambassadors themselves.
We are adding the full story of this project, with photos and what the participants wrote.
