Grow with Cultined

Taking part can be a first step. Some people come back to help, take on more responsibility and later lead activities.

  1. Discover

Look around, ask questions in the chat and choose an activity that suits you.

  2. Take part

Join an activity as a participant. You work with others, learn by doing and record what you learned in your Youthpass.

  3. Help in the team

In a later activity you can support the group as a junior team member, for example in mentoring, inclusion, logistics, health, communications or finance. You learn how an activity is run, with guidance.

Example roles: Junior Mentoring Officer, Junior Logistics Officer

  4. Lead an area

With experience, you can take responsibility for one area of an activity and guide the people working in it.

Example roles: Senior or Chief Mentoring Officer, Chief Inclusion Officer

  5. Coordinate an activity

You run a whole activity together with the team: the planning, the people and their safety.

Example roles: Chief Operations Officer, Chief Support Officer

  6. Lead a project

A project can hold several activities, sometimes in different years and countries. You lead it from plan to final report.

    Example roles: Chief Project Officer

These are possible steps, not fixed requirements, guaranteed roles or paid positions. Which role fits you, and when, is something we decide together.

Words explained

Short explanations in plain language. The official rules are in the programme documents; ask us if anything is unclear.

European Solidarity Corps
An EU programme that pays for volunteering projects for young people, mostly aged 18 to 30. Cultined holds its Quality Label.
Volunteering Team
A group of young volunteers from different countries who work together on a project for a few weeks, such as Project Yatra.
Co-funded
Through the European Solidarity Corps the EU pays a large part of the costs, such as travel, food, housing, insurance and pocket money. Sometimes you pay part yourself, for example travel costs above the EU amount, and sometimes a partner organisation provides something, such as housing. The page of each activity and our team tell you what applies.
Fewer opportunities and extra support
Some young people face more barriers, for example because of a disability, health, money, where they live or their education. The programme can pay for extra support, such as more preparation or someone who travels with you. Tell us what you need; you never have to explain more than you want to.
Youthpass
A European certificate in which you write down what you learned during the activity. You make it at the end, with our help.
Mentor
A person from our team who supports you before, during and after the activity.
Infopack
A document with the practical details of an activity: dates, place, travel and what to bring.
Participant agreement
The agreement you sign with Cultined before you leave. It describes what you and we will do.
Proof of attendance
A document that confirms you took part. You sign it online in My Cultined.
